Sandbox : The Murder Concept

The Murder Concept...

'A Murder in the Glee Club' is unlike any other album you've ever seen. It has a lot of the other stuff that your other favorite albums have - a lot of great songs with catchy beats, tunes and clever lyrics. But this album has something that sets it apart from all others - the concept underlying it. The record is more than just a collection of songs - it runs much deeper than that. All the songs are linked under a theme - that of a murder in the Glee Club. The songs are placed in a specific order, so that they can tell the listener a story, a story of murder and mystery. Here is an excerpt from the liner notes from 'A Murder in the Glee Club' to help explain:
"It begins with the background information for the particular mindset, then introduces a dissociated, uncaring fellow who commits a murder and tries to rationalize the deed to both his victim and himself. After his mind totally breaks down, he becomes a self-involved control freak and rejects society all together. The realization of lost opportunity fuels the feelings of being trapped and the desire to rectify his undeserved anonymous status within society. It ends with him questioning the lack of remorse he feels for his actions."
So you see, the new album is much more than album - it is an interactive adventure for the listener. Can you figure out where each song fits in with the story? Can you picture the story playing out in your head as you listen to the album? Are you able to figure out the mystery of the album? Go back and listen to the album again... for the first time.
